The Box
Local Artists Give a
Hand for the Kids!
Local artists from Palmdale, Lancaster, Los Angeles and the
Valley have come together to donate their time in creating a
very special and unique type of art for a Child Development
Center called "Outside the Box" (OTB).
OTB is a Brain
Development Center for special needs
and typical children, ages 8 weeks to 5 years old. What makes
this art/mural experience special is that they are interactive!
Artists have specialized their works of art to include pieces
that the children can touch for sensory stimulation. "The
project was a beast", say Octavia Lindlahr,
OTB Owner. "We had more than 20 huge walls to cover in the
almost 3,000 square foot center. We would have never been able
to afford to cover them all, but the artists really came
through".
Outside the Box is holding a Grand Opening on January 2nd from
10:30 AM until 10:00 PM that night.
Artists will exhibit
their own personal work, as well as their mural work from 7 PM
to 10 PM.
OTB is located in
the Westfield Topanga Promenade Mall, 6100 Topanga Canyon
Boulevard, Space #2220,
